'72 Access panel in wiper compartment???

I've been doing a bunch of work on my '72 and the screws on the wiper circuit breaker won't release, they just turn. Can the panel in the wiper compartment behind the power brake booster be removed to gain access to the nuts behind?? The plate seems significant in strength, I decided to ask before removing it. I found nothing in the AIM, could be me though. Thanks!!

that 4 bolt panel is just a reinforcement plate.
the bolts hold the brake/clutch pedal bracketry under the dash in place.

It does add access to anything inside the car at all.

You should be able to reach behind the firewall from up top and have aceess to anything in the wiper bay area.
Those two screws stick through the back. They may be a little hard to wrench on with the wiper door assembly in place.

Yiu might be able to get a handle on them by removing the grill panel- but realistically, may have to remove the wiper door assembly to get you hands and a plier in there.

Once again, just like the heads , no easy way to do it...

I had a feeling it was too good to be true.

Since you remember about the heads, an update. Everything is apart and firewall is bare and nearly cleaned. I decided to take the evaporator box out since the opportunity was there, good thing. Somehow, a mouse maybee, the wool-like insulation from under the dash had completely clogged the evaporator. I guess I know what the A/C system was abandoned. Should be doing black-out this week, returning the evaporator housing, heads and then on to the rest. I'm almost to the reassemble part of the show. Fun, Fun, Fun.....
