I have a question about a 1957 1119001 voltage regulator. I would like to buy an ncrs correct unit and was wondering if the corvette version of the 9001 ever had a ground screw on the vertical side wall just above the part number? The 1956 unit I have doesn't have a ground there and I was wondering if GM might have used that version on other models of passenger cars and not the corvette. thanks for your help.

Re: 9001 voltage regulator details
Susan,
Enclosed are 8 photos of an original 1119001 voltage regulator dated "6H" (August 1956) in the link below that I bought at a swap meet in Mansfield, MA, but sold it last year. I still have an "over the counter" 1119001E regulator but I believe that it is dated sometime in 1962 and as I remember there are differences.

Re: 9001 voltage regulator details
No need for a ground screw on a passenger car as the body grounds it out. Just looked at 2 001's, 2 000's and 1 002 all from the 57 model year and none of them have screws or holes for screws. You could fill the hole if needed or just take the screw out and see if anyone picks it up on the field.- Top
