    59 door postwindow liners

I'm in the process of reassembling the doors on my 59. Problem is there are 3 options on the order of rivets and 6-32 screws that hold the felt channels in place. My original liners were held by a rivet at the top and bottom and screws in the other three positions. The judging manual states that there are rivets at the upper and center position. The assemble manual indicates rivets at the top two positions and the bottom and screws in the remaining two. Now which is it and how many arguments will I get into on the judging field regardless how I do it.
Note my original posts contradict the judging manual and the assemble manual. The three center holes had been tapped.

I am currently assemblying my 1960 built in May 1960. It has a rivet at the bottom, then two screws, and the top two are again rivets. I would have to get the manuals out but if I remember correctly my Vette also does not match some of the published info.

I replaced my felt channel a long time ago. I replaced the rivets with machine screws, but have the same order as Terry. I can tell the factory arrangement because the factory screws are different than the machine screws I used to replace the rivets.

I'm doing this now on a '59 also. Originally, the top two and the very bottom were rivets. Just keep in mind that the door weatherstrip upper window stop has to be in place before the top rivet is installed.

Thank you all for your input. The assemble manual indicates yours is correct Richard . As previosly stated mine differ with a rivit top and bottem and three screws in the middle . I've been advised by a local judge that they should be like discribed in the judging manual. Not wanting to lose a single point if ever judged I'm not sure which way to go. I feel regardless which way that I go if judged this is one of those things that some nit picking judge will deduct points for. I'm sure there's someone that has had their car judged and has an opinion on this or a judge who has seen this before. I personally have found many things in the judging manual that I dissagree with ,but when judged the manual seems to be the bible. Right or wrong. In this case the judging manual contridicts the assemble manual. Input Please.

I do have a lot of opinions, anyway I replaced mine about 3 years ago and put them back like they came out, the originals were in place. They were like the assembly manual and a friend had the setting tool for the rivit, can not remember the name of it but they were being sold by the Corvette suppliers as I remember.
The ones I can see on the car from the top are rivit, rivit. screw, I can't see the lower 2.
