    Shifter Mounting Bolts

What would be the correct finish on the mounting bolts of a 1966 Corvette Shifter?

    Barry-----

There were actually two different shifter mounting set-ups for 1966. Early used a shifter mounted to a bracket attached to the transmission extension housing. Later used a bracket mounted to the crossmember. In either case, there were two bolts that attached the shifter to the bracket. The long bolt was black phosphate-finished. The short bolt varied depending upon which shifter mounting was used. However, I believe that either of the bolts were black phosphate-finished.
