reading the other thread about a 62 327/300 cam problem. but I am having a similar problem only mine is my 66 396 Chevelle BB. I had my engine rebuilt over the winter and on the engine stand it wiped out the cam. I had a new flat tappet crane cam and lifter set used. my engine builder told me he would like to use hyd roller cam. any experience with these on a street BB.

Re: another cam lob failure questions
Keith,
You might want to spend some time on the phone with your favorite cam manufacturer (Crane, Comp, etc.....). Have the pertinent engine info ready, like compression ratio, cylinder heads, intake, carb, exhaust, stall speed if an automatic, rear gearing. All of these parameters play into camshaft selection and they will be able to recommend a cam that will work with with your existing engine / car set up.
Recommending a cam without knowing much about the engine and car set up is not the best approach.
I'm sure others on this TDB, much more experienced then I, will chime in also.
