    Complete C2 Hardtop?

Before I post a Driveline ad for my "some assembly required" hardtop, I would like to determine what a potential purchaser would require to complete the assembly process.

From the attached photos, what am I missing? Thanks for the help!

I see only one stainless piece that mounts to the top behind the windows. Obviously you'll need the header latches and screws to attach the stainless and weatherstrip to the top. What is the condition of the two bolts that attach the top to the car at the rear? They appear to be missing (can't tell from the pic), and they are very hard to replace. Fnally, there is a metal piece that helps retain the plexiglass; it's located in the rear center of the top where there is a "notch" in the top to conform to the raised area of the hinged soft top storage area.

          Thanks for your replies!

Looking thru the LIC catalog, I find many, many missing pieces. All latches, screws, reinforcements, and the rear bolts Larry mentions (to name just a few missing items). "Some assembly required" might be an understatement.

Larry: do you mean the long curved piece with the "bow" shape in the third photo of my first post?
or this: http://tinyurl.com/6ubvfgt or something else entirely?

And -- I see this as a source for the rear bolts: http://tinyurl.com/76cn78b but these are not marked like originals, of course.

          Thanks again, guys!

Andrew, I was referring to a steel part that attaches the plexiglass to the top at the center rear. The plexiglass has a screw hole in it that this bracket mates up with. The rear bolts that you need did not have any markings; even if they did, you couldn't see them once installed. But you need more than just the bolts. The brackets that hold these bolts must be removed by drilling out 4 aluminum (I think that's what they're made of) "rivets" before you can get the bolt into place. Then you got to figure out some way to crush the new rivets to hold them in place, and those "rivets" are big and healthy!

You can just put the bolts into place without removing the brackets, but the bolts will be wobbly. If this doesn't make sense, I'll try to find some pics.

I forgot to add that there are also 4 thin steel strips (about 1/2" wide) on the rear "bow" of the top that hold the weatherstrip flush. These are painted black.

I did not see the clip/barrel nuts that secure the lower stainless trim below the window. Also the clips around the window top securing the top of rear window stainless trim. Retainers (2) for the bolts that retain the 1/4" carrage type bolts to the deck lid. Lower barrel nut bracket don't see it neither.

Thanks for the help! I can tell it's much less complete than I thought it was.

The hardtop was something that the seller of the car sort of "threw in" after I'd bought it from him, so I don't have anything in it, really. I now have a much better idea about questions I can expect from potential buyers and how much work it will take someone to bring it up to usable condition (lots of questions and lots of work).

                  Thanks again!

Hard tops seem to be selling "dirt cheap" just now; I've seen tops on eBay that had no bids at a starting price of $400. I paid a ton of money for my 1967 vinyl covered top (about $1500), and although I had to install new weatherstrip, have the stainless polished, plus a new headliner, it did have a perfect rear window, very good vinyl, and no missing parts.

Yes, yours is lacking a lot of items, but I'd still try to sell it "as is" instead of buying the missing items. I just don't think you'll get your money back.
