    Oil Leak

I have 66 427 recently rebuilt. When accelerating I'm getting oil leak on right side which hits exhaust manifold with smoke coming out of side of car. When I reach cruising speed it stops. On inspection I have serious oil around starter and manifold. No oil coming from top of engine or base pan. Is there a seal between dip stick tube and base pan? Any suggestions?

you may have a loose fit between the dip stick tube and the pan - when you build pressure the tube may be forced up allowing oil to escape - I would remove - clean - reseal with a sealer which hardens - give it a few days to set up and see what happens.

The dipstick tube should have a o-ring seal where it installs into the oil pan tubular fitting. It may be torn or missing.
