'65 396 Hood Vent Rain Shield Finish/Color

What is the black finish supposed to be for the rain shields on a 65/66 big block hood? Should the black finish match the underdside hood blackout finish or should they be more of a semi-gloss black finish?

James -- here's the set off my late L78; never been (re)painted. As found in barn of a previous owner; there since 1971.

You can see traces of the original patina where the dum-dum has fallen off.

Semi Gloss - which is different from the underhood black - IMO they were painted by mfg before install at St. Louis

I agree with Carl -- Semi Gloss Black as compared to the underhood black which tends to be less gloss.
