I HAVE ENJOYED ALL THE YEARS I HAVE SERVED AS PAINT AND BODY TECH. ADVISOR I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO BE COURTIOUS AND INFORMATIVE WITH EACH PERSON THAT HAS CALLED ME FOR HELP ON PAINT OR BODY ISSUES .I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO BE AVAILABLE, BY PHONE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THE MEMBERSHIP HAS CALLED ME ABOUT.I ALWAYS TRIED TO BE HELPFUL AND UNBIASED WITH MY ANSWERS.
I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ATTEND ANY NCRS MEETS FOR QUITE A WHILE. ( MY SON IS AN AVID DRAG RACER,SO I SPEND A LOT OF TIME INVOLVED WITH THAT HOBBY. HE WAS ABLE TO WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR AT THE AGE OF 19. http://www.dragraceresults.com/fulls...id=4242&type=2 ) I FEEL MY ABSENCE AT THE MEETS IS UNFAIR TO THE MEMBERS WHO HAVE SPENT UNTOLD HOURS WORKING ON THEIR CARS . I KNOW IF I WERE ATTENDING THE MEETS I COULD ANSWER SOME OF THEIR QUESTIONS BETTER IN PERSON INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ANSWER THEM OVER THE PHONE .
THEREFORE,WITH MY REGRETS ,EFFECTIVE APRIL1,2012 I WILL BE RESIGNING MY POSITION AS NCRS NATIONAL PAINT AND BODY TECHNICAL ADVISOR.

If Mr. Schuster was anything like Tom Ames, he was and is a very considerate, helpful and patient gentleman. I had the honor and pleasure to Observer Judge Exteriors on mid year cars with Mr. Ames at the Texas Regional in October, and was extremely impressed with the consideration Mr. Ames showed me. He was literally like a teacher as he moved around all the various aspects of the body and paint, explaining as he noted issues on the judging sheets. Very knowledgeable and not the least reluctance to share information with a newbie. I can say without reservation that his assignment as the National Paint and Body Technical Advisor will have nothing but positive effects on the club and all its members who choose to avail themselves of his knowledge and expertise. I say great choice in Tom, and thank you Mr. Schuster for the time you gave to the members of this club.
