I knew it had been for the ZR1s, but didn't realize it was for all C6s, now that is different.

I have owned one black car in my life (fortunatley not a Corvette). I will never have another.

I was looking through various 2012 Corvette production stats, and though not all done yet, it appears black will be the most common color in 2012. For example, of the 300 or so ZR1s, 100 of them are black. I guess the special Centennial Package (black only) was a driver of this, but I was wondering if anybody knows if black has ever been the most popular and common color for a Corvette before?

In 1957 Black WAS the most popular color for Corvette.
Of 6339 built ... 2189 were Black.
Resale Red ... 1320 was 2nd
followed by White ... 1273 3rd.
Along with 4 other colors
Intresting I see more RED 1957 Vettes today.

Its not for everyone, you need to enjoy taking care of it. I use a new micro fiber towel every time I touch my 07 zo6, not a scratch in her. Its not workbut a labor of love, of course my car friends think I'm nuts

Since 1991, my daily commute has been on I-65. I have seen hundreds of transports headed north from Bowling Green over the years. I can recall black not being remarkedly prevalent on the C4s and C5s I saw being shipped; it has been more frequent on C6s.

Both mine and my wife's daily drivers are black. I wouldn't have any other color. Those that say they're hard to keep clean must be doing something wrong. They both get clayed and waxed twice a year and washed in between. They always look awesome.
