1972 Rally Wheel Center Cap Question

I need to replace a lost center cap for a 1972. Does anyone know how closely current GM replacements come to matching the originals?

On the outside, I would say very close. If you pop it off and look at the inside, not very close. If your cool with that, they should do well in judging.

Thanks for your info. The car won't be judged, so I'm not concerned with the internal configuration, only the exterior.

I stopped by the local Chevy dealer today, and new covers have a $270 list price. I think they were around $90 when I last bought one.

Lawrence..the original center caps are pretty easy to be found in the "used" condition at most Corvette/Chevy/GM Swap Meets for anywhere from $5-$20 with conditon on these prices from fair to excellent. I have bought caps easily for around $10 (just got one in Kissimmee this last January) and needed only the outside rim. My center was fine, but the outside rim had a pretty noticeable "ding". I took both these apart and used the best of both caps to make one nice one.
