If we can take this communication as indicating first ACTUAL availability of N14, then it was later than the date anticipated in the Denver Zone Distribution Newsletter, dated August 20, 1968 "...will not be available for production at the assembly plant until approximately November 1st".

What does the TIM&JG say about starting VIN range for '69 side exhaust ?

Pg 28. "Side exhausts are a 1969-only factory option beginning in December 1968. The earliest documented instance of factory-installed side exhausts is December 3, 1968, SN 9320."

The telegrams pictured here do not indicate that the unavailability of option N-14 was the only reason for the delay in shipping Mr. Barringer's car.

Small world. Know of Barringer, family had a petroleum distribution business for years. Tom Brooks Chevrolet sold many hi-po Chevrolets over the years. They have been out of business for quite a few years. Sold out to Rooster Bush. They were only 30 minutes from me.
