How To "Oil" Air Filter Element For Judging

I'm getting ready for for a chapter judging. One of the details I noticed in the book was that the air filter should have oil on it. I have a 1969 and have purchased a duplicate air filter to the original, but would like to apply the correct color or type of oil to the white element. I wondering if anyone else has done this and what they used to get the proper look for the judges. Thank you! Don

I did the search. Check out the thread, below. Go to near the end of the thread and you'll see the discussion of the reasons why not to "wet" the filter with oil.

Don, Theres no need to do this as the judges know what the originals look like and they will deduct the points for it being not correct.
