How to clean a ballast resistor

I found two original ones, one has great pinata but the other one is filthy. I got most of the surface grime off but can't get the main body white again. any tips would be helpful

The way I clean them is to glass bead them.

I use the media blaster too, but hold it back at a distance. You just want to lightly remove the dirt--not blast it hard.

Soap and water in a heated ultrasonic cleaner.

Try denture tablets. Did a great job with the white ceramic on my cigarette lighter.
