George -- I don't have my order in hand yet. I will post when I do. I am not counting my chickens (or books) yet.

It is hard to get good help now days. I am not complaining -- that is just one of the reasons I am still working even after "retirement."

Just recieved a letter today from SAE Internatinal; they state "no longer in print, however, after further discussion, we will be reprinting this book. The price is increasing"

So our interest seems to have got some attention!

Hey... any NCRS Board members out there?

Consider working with SAE to distribute the Corvette SAE paper book through NCRS. This is a very interesting and valuable historical document that I think would be of interest to many NCRS members.

SAE is probably wondering why there is a sudden run on this book.

MANY thanks for bringing this book to my attention! I'll check it out in the morning. If we can get any sort of wholesale pricing, we'll sell it. We used to sell the "Racous Silence" book before it went out of print. I'm glad to know that it's back.

Interesting. I also received a letter yesterday saying that they were going to reprint it and they'd honor the price they quoted me of $19.99. I wonder if that's because they realized they had a few copies, sent them to people that ordered on-line and then ran out. Of course, I already have the hard copy coming at $80. Oh, well....business is picking up here in Detroit. Slowly.

The SAE site just took my order. We'll see what happens.

Mine arrived yesterday. Ordered Saturday and received Tuesday. I only ordered The Chevrolet Corvette: New Vehicle Engineering and Technical History. Very cool.

Mine also arrived yesterday (3/37/12) -- ordered Thursday (3/22/12). I received everything I ordered -- SP-918, The Chevrolet Corvette: New Vehicle Engineering and Technical History, and Chevrolet Racing, 14 Years of Raucious Silence. I will have to look at the flyleaf of the last item and see how it compares to the earlier edition I have.

Duke, again I thank you for lightening my wallet and improving my reference library. If you keep this up, I may have to decide to whom to bequeath my library rather than just letting Liz sort, or pitch, it out.

Recieved my PT-118 last Thursday been enjoying it
Funny thing is a second copy arrived yesterday that I did not order, of course they sent a bill

Thanks for the tip. However, I'm on the SAE website right now and they show this book as costing $99.95 (non-member). Where did you see it for $19.95?

Might be best to give them a call to order. When I tried to order on-line it said "out of stock". The rep on the phone said it was in stock and placed the order.

That's the new price. If you had called before SAE decided to do a new print run and was given the $19.95 price, SAE would stand by that price.
SAE even sent me a letter asking if I still wanted at $19.95 + shipping, which I did purchase.
