C1 (1960) Gauge Cluster Wire question

I'm putting the gauge cluster back together on my 1960. I have attached a picture of what it looked like when I removed it. There was a yellow wire between the the Driver Side terminals of the Fuel Gauge and the Temp Gauge. I don't think it belongs there. From looking at the AIM and Dr. Rebuild wiring sheets, it does not appear on either. These two terminals both have individual pink wires to the Ignition Switch and through the fuse box per the diagrams in the AIM.

Can someone confirm that it doesn't belong?

You are correct, it is not a factory installed wire.

You can just about be assured that wires with those type of crimps are not from the factory, my guess is that one of the pink wires may be open and they were jumped to get the 12volts to the gage that needed it. If you are using the same harness I would make a continuity check of the pink wires. May be a bad connection or broken wire.
