In reading the '66 NCRS Technical Information and Judging Manual, it states that the teakwood wheel is comprised of teakwood and rosewood. Is that true? I thought it was just teak but could certainly be mistaken. Was the reference to rosewood an error? Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

Re: Teak and Rosewood?
Mark -- the Summer 1980 issue of the RESTORER has an article by Joe Clark wherein he interviews the engineer in charge of the fabrication of N32 at Inland Div. of GM. Mentions use of teak and rosewood (for the trim bands), which I assume is the outer band joining the top and bottom teak segments. Also describes the 18 segments being separated by cross-grained hardwood inserts (see 1st pic, below).
Also check 4 thumbnails below big pics; you can see the "rosewood" better.
The '65 TIM&JG has only 2 lines of description -- no mention of rosewood. Have to admit on mine it's sometimes hard to believe there's another wood component. By definition, rosewood is to have a reddish hue, whereas teak tends to yellow.y
