    C1 front end lift kit MATERIAL QUESTION

    As a followup to my previous post on C1 lift kits I have found some 4" X 0.190" X 2.66" aluminum I beam material which I think will work to make a set if risers but;
    I'm not familiar with aluminum alloys so my question is;
    Is 6061-T6 Aluminum 0.190" thick satisfactory to make a set of risers to use between the front suspension and the frame? I have to recheck to see if the 2.66" dimension is wide enough.
    Thanks for your input.

    Steel ibeam, don't forget aluminum shims on both sides. It's a simple mod, frowned upon in this venue, praised on other forums. The passenger car spindle supports (1950) will not raise, but will lower the front end.
