What do we know about antifreeze color on a 65 Built in April?

Ken,

The car would have originally came with the old green color antifreeze but it's not the best choice today. Check the archives for some good info on antifreeze for the aluminum radiator cars.

That's what I use in all my old cars. Use distilled water, not tap water.

W/S washer fluid and antifreeze were both green.

Gary, anti freeze/ coolant protects against freezing and overheating. so the cold parts of the country benefit from freezing. and the warm parts benefit from overheating. I would say that all cars left the factory with Anti freeze/ coolant.Don't forget the other chemicals to protect the cooling system against rust and corrosion.

Actually, the antifreeze used for 62-64 was pink. I'm not sure what color it was for 65.

am i missing something ? does the JM address the color of the AF ?

if not why not use the best product on the market with distilled water !
