C6 Rear key Switch above license plate.

I only have one key, which fits both the air bag shut-off in the glove box and the glove box lock. But will not go complotely into the rear lock. I have trying spraying the lock, and it still lacks about a 1/4 of an inch of going all the way. I need to get this working because I need to program a second remote. I'm thinking it's never been used and the car is 05, I think it's packed with dirt. How about carb cleaner or electricial spray cleaner? My thought is the paint.

Jerry, Carburator cleaner will eat the paint,I would be careful with any chemicals. maybe a little WD 40 and some air pressure.

I would also try some WD40 and a little time. Keep working it !!
