    Argent Silver/Green wheel paint

I noticed that Summet Racing is selling "Paint, Factory Wheel Coating, Enamel, Low-Gloss, Argent Silver/Green, Aerosol, 16 oz." at their online store. Does anybody know if this is a correct rendering of the paint used on the early C3 wheels, Argent Silver with the green tint?

    Thanks.

    Ken

I purchased a can and sprayed a wheel. I wasn't impressed and would not recommend the product. I didn't see any green at all.

      Mark,

I am in the process of having some this mixed as I write this. I promised Terry L. that I would sell him some. I am actually a little behind time wise as my guy who mixes it for me is busy. However, when he does finally do it, I guarentee that it will be dead nuts on. Give me a call during the week regarding this. Thanks.

            Ron,

Once your paint is finished and it comes out perfect, would you mind sharing the formula so that others who are having the same issue can get the correct paint? Or alternately, maybe you could start a paint supply business and sell us some?

            Thanks.

Ron, I need this paint as well, did you ever get it mixed and if so could I get the paint or the way it was mixed. Thanks in advance. Frank

FWIW: I've had these codes for a long time and am not certain where I got them They may have come from a late 70s-early 80s Parts and Illustration Catalogue. They are supposed to be for acrylic lacquer:

Dang, some of those links are very proud of their paint. Somewhere here I have a modern paint formula. I will try to dig it up.

Never was happy with any of the rattle can paints trying to replicate this color. Finally had a local guy mix up some for me and came out with a color that I think looks great and judged without deducts. See this previous thread for my formula and pics of the results:

I had a paint shop to mix a formula for 1983 Maserati Smoky Quartz Metallic and shot the wheels once. Color and tint was dead on.

I tried the paint and it was ok. I did have to spray a bit of flat clear to dull down the shine a little. Otherwise not bad.
