Does anyone know what a fair price would be for a used set of Goodyear Eagle GT II 225x70 R15 raised white letter radials with approx 150 miles on them. I think they were approx. $125.00 each when new. They have a production date of 12/07. These tires have been discontinued & the only tires Goodyear makes now in this size is the Wrangle series. I had them installed on my 1970 and they fit very well.

I couldn't tell you what they're worth. However, the situation you've found regarding the discontinued Goodyear GTII tires in this size exemplifies what's going to be a continuing and increasing problem of finding street tires for C1, C2, and C3 Corvettes. Tires of equivalent metric sizes just have not been used on passenger cars in a LOT of years. There has been some light truck application and that's why you still find these sizes in some tire models appropriate for trucks but not cars and, certainly, not Corvettes.
The major tire manufacturers usually use sales volume as the primary yardstick in determining whether to continue production of a certain tire model in a certain size. When sales volume drops below a certain level determined by each tire manufacturer, the tire is discontinued. No consideration is given for how important a certain size might be for "niche" markets. So, a lot of tires in C1, C2 and C3 metric-equivalent sizes have been discontinued. You can be sure that more will be as time goes on. Who know, some day all C1, C2, and C3 Corvettes may be driving around only on reproduction tires (whether owners like driving on bias ply tires, or not)?In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

They're obviously much more expensive, but if available they're at least a radial option in that size.- Top

Joe what about the 225 x 70R15 radials still shown as being available through Coker and maybe other sources?

The Goodrich Radial T/A is one of the few current production radial tires still available in the 225-70-15 tire size. As a matter of fact, it can be purchased through other Goodrich tire sources besides Coker. However, all of the Coker variants (redline, etc.) are based on this tire and the availability of this tire. Like other manufacturers, I'm sure Goodrich has a sales volume "floor" which will determine the continued availability of this tire.
All we can hope for is that as tires of the sizes we need are discontinued by various manufacturers, that causes the sales volume of the remaining manufacturers of the size to increase to the point that they keep those tires (like the Goodrich T/A) in production.
By the way, as far as I know, there is no current tire in either 225-70-15 or 215-70-15 which is available in anything greater than a "T" speed rating. A "T" speed-rated tire is, basically, a touring tire, not a performance-oriented tire.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
