    C-1 Tach removal

c-1 I need to remove the tach from my 61 to return it for servicing. I recall a post or Restorer article with a good step by step set of instructions, but I can't find it. I know its a tedious job, but I don't want to destroy any of the other instruments in the process, so I'm willing to take the time.

Anyone have the article or a good checklist for the job?

Do you have the ST-12 it spells out how to do it in sections 1 and 12, basically you need to remove the insturment panel and all that is associated wires. I do not know of ay other way to get the tach out.

I have had good luck by just removing the nuts that hold the 2 separate gauge pairs in the housing and moving them back before removing the gauge cluster so the tach can then be removed.
Disconnect your battery before doing anything.

Tim, This is a link to a step by step approach to removing the dash cluster. In short, the who cluster will need to be removed from the dash, to gain access to the Tach. https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...1+dash+removal
