    1965 Master Cylinder

I am trying to get my '65 coupe ready to try to move up from 2nd Flight. One of the deductions was for an incorrect Master Cylinder. the MC has been replaced sometimes in the last 45+ years and has some sort of aftermarket replacement unit. I thought it would be easy enough to buy a correctly marked replacement. However, the vendors I have tried (Corvette Central, Paragon) do not have the correct non power brake MC at all. They say it is not produced. The Tech Info Manual says I need #2225032. Do any of you folks have any ideas where such might be available? Thanks for any advice.

They're correct that the master cylinder is not produced or reproduced today. However, it was produced once-upon-a-time and examples are still out there which can be sleeved and made like-new.

I'd try contacting a brake specialist like Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes in Florida or Lonestar Caliper in Texas.

          Mike:

Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes in Florida shows that they are currently tooling up to produce this master cylinder. The price will probably not be cheap $$$$$. See this link :http://www.cssbinc.com/delco-master-...-corvette.aspx

The other alternative is to find an original and get it sleeved. This has already been mentioned. A number of companies can do the sleeving.

I guess it boils down to cost and/or need to have immediately. You will have to make that decision.

Well that was quick! I bought one off Ebay, correct casting #, etc.. I guess Corvette Stainless can sleeve it?
Thanks for all the help. 12 points closer + 8 more for condition (old wrong one was crummy too boot).

Did you buy just a core? There was one on there that had already been sleeved and rebuilt for 149 bucks.
