54 thermostst temp

I stsrted out with a 160 degree thermostat because the engine is bored at 40 over and it runs steady at that temp. Should I run the 180 as the manual indicates. Are there reprocushions running 160 as opposed to a 180. Burning issues? Thanks as always

I always recommend using the factory-specified thermostat (except for later 195 degree-equipped C2 and C3 cars).

there are some that would argue......that lower temp will not get the oil hot enough to burn off impurities, water, etc.....
It is oil temp that matters IMO.

I have a 180 in mine
what are you going to do with the car? drive or trailer queen

No trailer queen here, im going drive this sucker. When I take the radiator off for body drop Ill put a 180 in. Im sure there are good reasons for it or it wouldne be speced. Thanks Chris for all your input.
