    It seems pretty clear to me.
    i would agree also Jim.
    i attended a seminar John Hinckley presented on the st louis assembly plant. he pretty much stated that ao smith plant did not have the tool that punched out the notches on the birdcage therefore they never made an ao smith body with side pipes. the notches would have a clean cut edge.

      VIN #10554, Drew Papsun has the window sticker SHOWING N-14 SIDE EXHAUST. So build date of approximate date of Feb 16, 1965. FIRST SIDE EXHAUST CAR. Confirmed by Al Grenning. Car sold new at Sausman Chevrolet Co., Lemoyne, PA
