    Need Some Informational Details

    20120310_114015.jpg20120310_114104.jpg20120310_115054.jpg20120310_115724.jpg
Working on some finishing touches to my 67 coupe. Would like some clarifcation on several questions.
    1. Where does the MFC get installed and does this appear to be an original flasher?
    2. What type of retaining device is used in the pin that holds the clutch rod to the clutch fork? (G clip or cotterpin?)
    3. How far down should the expansion tank hose hang on the outside of the frame? (Sidepipe car)
    4. What type of self tapping screw (style/shape etc) should attach the ground strap to the throttle lingage?
    5. What color/finish should the accelerator pump on the holly carb be? (Had mine rebuilt by Holly custom shop and it is green in color, I believe it should be gray or black)
Thanks for the help in advance!

Brown capacitor mounts on pedal bracket and is wired across brake switch poles. Flasher should have a greenish color and appears to be original. Ground strap is held with a hex head bolt. AIM should have clutch pin info. I don't have a hose on a BB.

Ground strap bolt gets the same bolt for the brake light capacitor. Let the hose hang about 1/2" to an inch below the skirt.

          Michael -

          2. The clutch rod-to-fork pin uses a cotter pin, and the anti-rattle spring should be black.

          4. The ground strap-to-throttle lever attachment is a 1/4"-20 recessed hex head zinc-plated bolt; the one that attaches the radio capacitor to the pedal support is a different self-tapping zinc-plated bolt.

          5. The accelerator pump cover should be similar coloration as the float bowl.

            John

            Thanks for the info.
Another question concerning finish of the spring, should the spring be painted gloss black or black phosphate?

The referance to the color for the accelerator pump was for the gasket that you see around the edges when looking down on the carb. My mistake for not being clear>

Thanks again for the help, I'm trying to pay attention to the little things

                Michael,

Here is a picture of the bolt that was on my 67 holding the ground strap to the throttle lever. I was the first to turn it as the remains of the ground strap end were still attached. On my 67 this bolt also holds the top shield to the spark plug wire support.

The anti-rattle springs should be dark phosphated, and the accelerator pump cover gasket was originally black rubber (the newer green ones from Holley are ethanol-resistant).
