    Photo Of "03" Autocam

Can anybody help me with this, looking straight-on at the top of it? Thanks in advance.

I will be the first one to ask what a "03" Autocam is

How's this ? On a 1111060 L76 T.I. dated 4C30 (1964 365hp K66). Not sure what the underline means on these; could understand if an 8 or 9, to maintain relation of digits where inverting could lead to a different number interpretation.

        Thank you.

if i remember correctly the TI SHP dist retarded the timing about 2 degrees at top end

Here's how the Delco Remy Test Specifications book 1964-1976 DR-324S-2 puts it:

"After maximum centrifugal advance is reached and distributor speed is increased above that needed to obtain maximum centrifugal advance, it is characteristic of (these K66 units) for centrifugal advance to decrease approximately 0.5 (distributor) degree for each increase of 500 distributor RPM."

Detonation likelihood is greatest at max engine torque (max cylinder pressure) which occurs around 4500-5000 RPM. With the bigger SHP cams, especially the 30-30, which has generous overlap, the impulse tuning that occurs past the torque peak would probably prevent a dropoff in cylinder pressure at higher RPMs to the same extent as the lower horsepower engines whose cams lack the required overlap.

Note the "knock index" in the following chart:

Regarding the autocam, Dave Fiedler told me that the 327/365 non TI takes the "03". Is it possible that all of the 1964-65 365 and 375 SHP engines use the same "03" autocam, and the timing retard at higher RPM's is accomplished via the TI unit.

              From the 1965 Shop Manual:

              1964-65 327/365 and 375 with TI, and 327/375: 26* centrifugal @ 2500 RPM

              1964-65 327/365 and 375 non TI ("03" autocam): 24* centrifugal @ 2350 RPM
