    The first 427

Looks like the Corvette Museum will hold a bash for the 60th Corvette anniversary .

The bash will introduce a Commeritave 427 cu in equiped C6 ( last of the breed).
I heard they will have on display the first 1966 to be equiped with the NEW 427 cu in.
Any one know who owns the first 1966 /427,where is it from??

Unless GM owns the first pilot 427 how would one know what SN is the first 427?

        Re: The first 427

I suspect that they will have "a" 1966 with a 427 as a representative of the first model year.
I can't recall ever hearing about "the" first 66 with a 427, and the Museum usually isn't into those kind of details...

There were at least two 1965s with 427s; one was Jack Pringle's 1965 Convertible, #003.

Mr. Midkiff's photo files strike again! Jack also DROVE the car from Detroit to Boston for the 1985 Convention. And caught grief from the Boat motor set for putting the car in "danger".
Upon reflection, I probably should not have stated "Two"; I'm not sure that the early 1965 coupe had a 427 like Jack's - it MAY have been a 396........

Great shot. I have never seen that badge before, but it is way cool! Does anyone know where the car is today?

The badges were made at Styling, starting with brass. Jack used to show the car with only one badge, just in case it was stolen, he would have a pattern. Jack offered the car one month in Hemmings; don't know if it sold - I would think that if it was sold, the new owner would have told the world, but.......
