    1954 ignition switch

While replacing the turn signal switch on the car the ignition wires came off of the switch. The wires have a color cover but I have no idea which one goes where! I have been looking for the number and placement of the wires but no luck, so far. One wire is still attached and the switch is still in the dash. Any ideas on where to go or wire colors that go to the connection points on the switch?

    Thanks

        Re: 1954 ignition switch

Maybe I can help. Starting at 2 o'clock there is a black wire going to the solenoid. At 4 o'clock there are 2 pink wires for ign. and then a purple wire at 7 o'clock that goes to the starter reley on the firewall. I am looking at my wiring diagram rather than actually looking under my 54. Hope that helps. Bill

            Re: 1954 ignition switch

Did I mention that the car has been converted from 6 volts to 12 volts? I have contacted a local corvette restorer that is scheduled to make a "house call" on the 12th of March. I looked on the Corvette Central web site and my starter switch looks more the 1955 starter switch on their web site. The person that converted the car from 6 to 12 volts passed away in December 2010. I have his notes but not his memory or knowledge. I have a local resource that is going to make a "house call" on March 12th. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome.

            Thanks
