Notch in coil bracket--what years?

In going through my box of coil brackets (I know, I need to get a life) I noticed that only the ones that I had marked 71 had this notch in it. The others that set the coil at an angle, rather than vertical, had no notch, but I believe are all earlier than 71. I looked at pics of several 71 LT-1's and 1 base motor car, and they all had the notch. Any input on that? (Ignore the orange--po did that.)

My 1970 has the notch -- the radio noise suppression capacitor attaches there. But that is not what you wanted to know.

I should have been more specific--the notch in the upper circumference of the bracket. And by the way, in looking at an old thread about the capacitors on TI cars, all 3 Fraternal triplets had them, as do #2485 and 4215. All are 452's.

Ah ha, I commented on the wrong notch. Now you have me wondering. I will have to look, but Barbi is all put away. Have some patience.

I don't see that notch on my June 72 car but it is on the Nov 71 car.
Both are base motor 4 speed cars.

My mid-January built 71 base engine coil bracket has the notch.

72. #13199 has the notch also.

FYI - 1971 LT-1 #4504 with a build date of December 18th, 1970 has the notch and the mount for the capasitor.
