    96 air intake

I have a 96 CE with an LT-1 that I was doing some cleaning on today.I checked out my judging manual for the correct intake#.The book has 2 -#10108476 & #10128327.Unfortunately my # is#12552138!!Is this a correct intake for my car which only has 32K miles on it??Also, the fuel rail #does'nt match the book!!Was it possibly changed with that many low miles??Thanks!!Nick B

My original owner 96 LT4's fuel rail numbers do not match the book either. It says it should be 170955191, a KNP2 date, and a bar sticker number of 5191. Mine read 17095152, KNN, and 5152. I know it's original, so I'm confused too.

WTH Pat!! We use these books like a Bible and we're still not sure if the info. is right especially when you get them judged!!I know that the C4 books still need a little tweeking,so what's a guy to do??My fuel rail# is 17096114.I've only had my car for 10 months and who knows what weht on in its past life.I scored a 97% at a Chapter meet but alot of things were overlooked i think.Oh Well,I appreciate the feedback and it make me feel better that you know yours is orig. and it does'nt match!!Thanks again,Nick

Gentlemen--The manual does need some tweeking.

If you look at the 94-96 Manual on page 136 you will see that the 1995 fuel rail is shown as 170955191 and in the detail below the listing a KNP2 is listed.

The number in the Judging Manual is a typo in that it should be 17095191 and my fuel rails show KNP1.

The KNP differance was thought to show a shift after the KNP - 1 being first shift and 2 as in the manual as being the second shift.

        At this point I would not change anything.Fuel Rail - Left.jpgFuel Rail - Right.jpg

          Hi Charlie,
I guess I should really bite my tongue more, not knowing the true history of my car!!When you have a car with only 32k miles on her you ASSUME that she's all orig.but you never REALLY know.I looked at my intake and saw the #12552138 and checked the book, to my worst nightmare to see the wrong number!!When I googled the part # it said mid 90s corvette, camaro, and trans-am LT-1,well I almost (you know what my pants)!!Maybe it got changed somewhere down the road!!So now what do I do??I guess you really should ASSUME just because of low mileage and do alot of homework!!Thanks for your input!!
