    C2 vapor barrier visabable behind door panel-OK?

    Is it typical to be able to see the vapor barrier and dum dum behind or nearly flush with the edge of the door panel on C2s? Does it judge OK if it is visible?

    Russ - My experience had been that the original caulk, dum-dum, is a bit back from the door edge. If I remember correctly the original caulk on the doors of our 67 was not very large in diameter and had a string in it; so the stuff didn't spread out much. If the vapor barrier is a repop, the ones I bought for our 67 were larger that the original pieces and I ended up t******* them so they didn't stick out. Pete

      Peter, At the front of the door in the area of the hinge cut-out there wouldn't be any room to move the dum dum back as the door edge there is only about 1/4 inch wide or didn't the dum dum get put on this narrow edge?

        Hello Russ & Pete;
        My experience is the white dumdum(caulk) had the string to facilitate ease of original installation.
        Attached is a images of my '67 18202 rt door interior during disassembly.
        Hope this helps.

          Ray, It looks like on your door that there is no dum dum running vertically at the front or the rear of the door. Would you agree?

            Think there was, but around the door hinge openings. Think the vapor barrier was to keep the door panel cardboard dry from moisture inside the door and some sound suppression.
            Hoping someone else would chime in with their own picture.
