for the cast iron intakes from 66-67 that use this where can you get a replacement that fits in the intake. I removed mine due to rust and leaking. bought one at my local auto parts store and it fell though the hole. So I got one from LIC and its the same one with the same result. what can be done. can you swell it out and make it seal. or is there a better replacement. I have a threaded one I can use but rather have a press in one. thanks

Re: intake water bypass fitting question
Keith,
I had the same problem with the bypass fitting on a BB water pump last year. I got the replacement fitting, I forget the size, but it was too loose in the hole. I was able to swell it to a bigger O.D with a special tool I had laying around. Somewhat like a exhaust pipe expander but on a smaller scale. I put a light coat of aviation gasket sealer on the fitting and drove it in. It was fine.
Maybe take it to a machine shop and see if they can expand it for you. They may have the tool like mine. If the manifold is off take it with you. If not take a very close tolerance measurement of the I.D. so you have a reference to go by. I'd think a few thousands bigger fitting O.D. greater than the I.D. of the manifold may be sufficient.
