1959 photos, please.

I am trying to help a fellow member locate original parts for his '59. His is a 245HP Powerglide car. After trying to search the archives I found that I need photos of an original gas cap which I believe has no lettering on the surface and has an S stamp on the rivet, a photo of an original oil filler cap, a photo of an original RC-1 radiator cap, and a photo of something called a wiring ballast resistor that mounts on the firewall.

Google "reproduction Stant gas cap" There is a company making exact repros. Go to Corvette Central or Paragon web site and look up the other parts, they have good photos of the other parts. This should get you started.

Joe, thanks. The owner specifically wants original parts including correct T-3 headlamps for his '59. I can hlep him out on two T-3s but the rest will be fun hunting them down. I need the photos to place on my I-Phone when I go to swap meets.
If I ever get lucky and be able to buy a '58 I will have a head start on some knowledge about the C-1s.

Google Top Flight Reproductions. Then reproduction parts. They make a great gas cap!

You may be on a long and costly journey. But it is amazing what pops up. There are many good photos in the Corvette Restoration Handbook of original parts that you are looking for.
