Rocker panel moldings on a 1962

What's the deal on the rocker moldings on a '62.
I have heard and read some early cars came with moldings that did not have the black paint in the valleys of the molding. My car has these. Are these original to the car or should they have the black paint?

My '62 #483 had rocker moldings, believed to be original, with no black paint. Not sure when the changeover occurred.

According to the Judging Manual, might want to buy one, it says that" mouldings below approximate 1962 serial number 6000 have no flat-black paint seperating the ribs, serial numbers above approximately 8000 contain flat black paint between ribs; serial numbers between 6000 and 8000 may appear either unpainted or painted rib seperations"

My #0029- no black paint, and #10975 has black paint.

#7743 came with one painted and one untainted from the factory.
