Water Shut Off Valve

Seen many posts regarding the C3 "water shut off valves" but no clear answers regarding my 75 A/C car. The 75 AIM specifies a shut off valve for non A/C and NO valve for A/C. The 76 & 77 AIM shows the valve specified for both A/C and non A/C. My thoughts are that the valve is not specified for 75 A/C cars and was included with A/C optioned cars for 76 start of production. Can anyone provide futher info?

Sounds like a great topic for contribution to the Restorer and one that would target the late model C3 period. Your theory is pretty specific so why not begin to collect some data from 77 owners with the RPO combo you describe and write up your findings. Would be good to meet one of the requirements for a Founder's Award.
