The HD Corvette spring for 78-79 (GM # 462598) had 7 leaves plus a top, spacer plate. The HD Corvette spring for 75 (GM # 354130) , and 76-77 (GM # 362152) each had 6 leaves plus a top, spacer plate. I think you have a 78-79 spring in your photo, plus a 75 or 76-77 spring.

What I question is the thickness of the material in the top photo. They appear to be 1/4". I am in Indy today, but I will measure them when I get back to the office

I can't help you with the thickness of the material. We'd need to see the engineering drawings for different HD springs. There are at least 7 different GM parts numbers for C2/C3 production and service replacement HD springs. The assembled thickness varied from 2.059" to 2.390". If your two springs are within that range, then I'm guessing those springs are either original GM production HD springs or GM service replacement HD springs.
