For those who own a 60-61 FI car with a 7320 unit, and IF it still has the ORIGINAL triangle tag on the fuel meter, what is the number on the tag? I'm thinking it SHOULD be 7250 and not 7320.
Owners of 7320 FI units, what number is on your ORIGINAL tag on the fuel meter

Re: Owners of 7320 FI units, what number is on your ORIGINAL tag on the fuel meter
Tom, As mentioned to you on the phone none of us old FI guys have ever seen a real deal 7017320 tag. Now for many years we handled and saw tons of repro triangle inspection tags that read 7017320. But now we know (or think we know) that they are nothing but hobbiest created.
At the NCRS national in Bowling Green in 2000 or 2001 I walked around the show with Brian Futo. He and I checked out all the 60-61's FI cars that had a 7320 unit on it. We found two unrestored fuel cars that both had the 7017250 tag.
Yes I have been guilt of selling the fake 7017320 tag. Wasn't doing it to be dishonest. The fact is I just did't know.
Here is the reason for such a tag. The late '59's had a 7017250 unit. The fuel meter on those is 252 or maybe 7017252. Now the same fuel meter was carried over into 61. Hence the reason that possibly All (dangerous word) of those fuel meters wore the 7017250 inspection tag. For the last 10-11 years I have asked a ton of people if they own an original 7071320 tag. And so far Zero have popped up.
What does the judging manual say on this? Thanks, John- Top
