Can anyone advise if there is a wiring materia made to covers tail light wires.

My former employer did not make the stuff, but purchased ir from an available source. Wiremold strikes my memory, but a search for asphalt based Or impregnated) loom might turn up some sources.

A fundamental problem with this thread---61/62 never used that kind of material anywhere but for the temp sending wire. Tail light wiring was simply black plastic wrapped with a gray cone over 62's and nothing over the socket on a 61.

Mike, do i understand that just black tape was used on the tail light wiring coming from seat area back to tail lights?
              thanks Mike for info.

Yes, the temp sender wire insulation is the only place that I've seen it used on Corvettes, too, but my familiarity with C1 Corvettes is very limited.

And it is not black electrical tape it is black wrapping with litlle or no adhesive at least that is the way it was in 1960.

Yes, that is usually the type of material that is used for wiring harnesses on Corvettes right through at least 1982. It is available from Dr. Rebuild and, likely, others.
