I'm in the midst of taking my recently acquired '57 hardtop apart to replace weatherstripping. It's going pretty well so far, but today I encountered an obstacle that I'm not sure how to deal with. At the forward top corner of the quarter window curved channel is a small metal wedge (see picture). The wedge is not shown in the ST-12 or the '57 assembly manual. And the ST-12 simply says that the quarter window can be removed after removal of the front channel/weatherstrip assembly. If the wedge were not there it looks like the window could be pretty easily pulled forward and out. But with the wedge present, I don't see an easy way to remove the window. I am trying to minimize the removal of rivets, but realize that the solution to this problem might lie in rivet removal. Does anyone have any tips on how to move forward with removal of the quarter windows?
Thanks,
Pete
