Re: where to send 67 AC components to be restored
Keith -- recently there's been much discussion of original C2 air conditioning components and possible variations, but the timelines have not been established.
Just wondering if you could report what your dad's car has for the compressor case (swaged to the front mount bracket, on left, '63 thru '66 ?, '67 ?) and circumferentially crimped on right ('66 ?, '67 ?). Also (2nd thumbnail), clutch hub openings (6 small holes on left, '63 thru '65 ?, '66 ?, '67 ?) and 3 large rectangular hub holes on the right ('66 ?, '67 ?).
Thanks- Top

Re: where to send 67 AC components to be restored
This just in --- eBay listing for (what seller claims [-- I have no interest or connection to this compressor auction]) is off a '65 Corvette. I sent a message and he says the back head "302" has a cast date J_18_5 (October '65, which would place it in 1966 production). But it does have the swage body (not crimp), the good diameter pulley and the clutch with the 6 small holes, as well as the slotted relief valve with the 440# stamping.
Assuming that this unit has not been rebuilt with parts from other compressors, this adds another data point to the question "when did the 'swage/small holes/slot relief' version(s) end. This unit seems to place the timeline into early '66, at least. Check out link below.

Would there be a clear changeover date ?
Would there be multiple suppliers for multiple components to assemble the compressors?
Thank you for your dedication and work.
