    1969 Brake Calipers

Pulling my brakes this weekend as my pedal has gone to mush without signs of lost brake fluid.

What part number and dating codes would I find on original calipers.

A picture would be worth a million words.

    Thanks

Tiny date codes on the machined flat areas on top of the calipers:

Original caliper halves will all have a casting number beginning with "545". Any "546" or "547" caliper halves are not original to the car.

Most likely it's julian. This was, by far, the most common system used by Delco-Moraine. Julian dating indicates the consecutive day of the year. For example, January 31 = "031", December 31 (in a non leap year)= "365". No year is coded into these julian dates.
