    C1 side door window felt

Does anyone have good or bad experience with a particular vendors window felts? I don't know if there is a difference between what Paragon, or Corvette Central, or Zip or others sell.

They may all be made by the same vendor, but I wanted to check others experiences before I order.

    Thanks,

    Don

    Don,
I used the ones from Paragon and did not have any problems. They looked just like the original ones taht were on the car.

Re: C1 side door window felt

Got my stuff and now I have a couple of additional questions.

First, I think that the bead on the front vertical sash channel (smaller bead) goes inside the bead on the window felt that staples to the door reveal moldings. See picture. Is this correct? The window felt beads will need to be spread out some as they will not go together now.

Second, I think I need to install the vertical sash channel to the door post before I install the door post into the door. I don't see any other way to do it given that one of the rivets is at the bottom end of the channel and would be next to impossible to crush one inside the door.

I was thinking of using my old felts and staple holes to align the new felts, but on second though, it is probably better to mount the reveal moldings to the door with the door post in place then position the felts. Anyone got a better approach?

        Thanks,

        Don

          Don,

Looks correct. Yes need to install the door felts to post first. I taped my old horizontal felt to my new one to use it as a template for the staple holes. I used a small drill the same diameter as the staples. I installed these felts on the moldings first. Since you use the old felt as a template, things should line up. They did for me. The only thing I had to adjust was the curve, where I had to slightly bend it to get everything to line up and fit flush as I was installing it on the door.

Also based upon advice on here, for the horizontal felt where it curves I crushed the felt in a vice before installing it. If you do not crush it first the window will be vary hard to roll up/down. Guess the repros are a little thicker. Just crushing it a little give just enough extra room for the window to slide.

          Good Luck,

          Tony
