1964 correct AC label and placement

Does this look like the correct label for my 64 AC Evaporator? and where exactly would it go? Thanks - Ryan

Looking for the same thing for my 64. If the label is correct, do you know how to get it embossed, and what are the correct numbers/letters?

Lets have some fun with this. Here are two A/C Evap. tags from ’63 Corvettes. The top one is from my April built car, the first A/C Corvette made. The lower one is from a July built car, when most of the ’63 air cars were built. It’s interesting to note the differences in the stamped information, the early tag may have been the same as those used on passenger cars. It shows the date on the left and a serial number (of the evaporator) on the right. The later tag shows a part number (3159697) on the left and the date on the right. I’ve not been able to find the part number in any of my documentation, it possibly is the part number of the tag itself. In both cases the tags are made of rather thick aluminum, similar in thickness to the ID tags on the compressors and they were glued onto the middle outside of the evaporator housing. (In actuality the blue color is the same on both tags, the photos were taken at different times with different lighting.)

        Keneth,
I just pulled the A/C out of my 1963 coupe, under dash & hood to see if it was 1963. It was and I was able to put it next to my 1967 to compare and see the differences.

I did see where the tag was glued to the evaporator box, but no tag.

It was interesting that they only made a few early under dash a/c distribution boxes.

Licorvette says late 63 to 67 but the newer under dash will fit as the differences were not physical to the shape of the box but more of the controlls.

I think I will take some pics of both boxes next to each other so the differences can be seen.

When I bought the 63 in 1971 it was being stripped of its original engine & trans to put in a jeep, it had a bent frame and front end damage.

I got it less engine, trans, radiator, radio, rims, and all light bulbs. All for the large sum of $150.00.

The owner said (back in 1971) that there were only 120 1963 vettes with A/C and he had it added.

When taking it out of my project 63 coupe I noticed that it was not added to factory specs (wiring).

        DOM

        Of coarse it
