    1970 LT1 6th one built

I saw an add on the internet by Hobby Car Corvette in PA stating that they have the 6th LT1 built for 1970 model year. I called the telephone number and spoke to a Bob, actted like a richard head. I explained the reason why I was calling and that I was just trying to do some reseach. He made the accusation that I was trying to clone his car. I explained that I had no interest in that direction and just want to compare built dates. He told me to contact NCRS that they know everything. I did not want to argue with the man and told him I appreciate his time.
Anyway does anyone know anything about this car? What the VIN number is? What is the built date? I was just curouis for research pruposes.

    Did you sell 006?
Did you ask him what he meant by the 6th LT1 built?

My information shows it would be at least the 9th. I'd like to hear what the first 5 vins are.

Well this may be the wrong one. They have 6th by two LT-1s on their site. The other is maroon

              Must be this one

Rare LT-1 package, 350/370hp motor, numbers matching. The engine was just rebuilt and a new clutch put in. New tan interior, new paint job, all the chrome and emblems are new

I have been around LT-1's as long as anyone, and since GM did not keep those kind of records, how can anyont say for sure it was the 6th LT-1 built?

                  Ron,
I have been around Corvette people for as long as most people, and longer than many, and I have learned people, especially used car dealers, can say anything they want. Supporting their statements with facts is another matter.

How can you fly an airplane and type messages at the same time. After meeting and seeing you in person I would not have expected that your real good.

Well, I haven't been around that long because I am not that old and I'm not saying Terry and Ron are old, maybe just seasoned. However, all I was trying to do is just see how the production date and the VIN line up with my car and other cars. By talking to this Bob guy, you would think that he was a bear hibernating and someone woke him up in the middle of winter and stoled all his honey. His mother must not have breast feed him when he was a cub.

To answer your 1st question Terry, NO I did not sell #006. I still have it. And I will up date date you on some news about the car.
To answer the 2nd question, he said it was the 6th LT1 built for 1970, NOT the 6th car. He stated that his information came from GM. When I asked him about the production date that's when he started showing his teeth. I thought I was going to have to shoot him with a tranquilizer gun over the phone. Easy Gental Ben. Go back to sleep and count the salmon.

He doesn't fly the plane, he just sits there watching the computer do his work

We've all been through it before with "Dick". He is the guy who said that 1970 LT1s did not have A.I.R.
