Nut Plate

Hello need a little help,1965 How do i replace the nut plate that mounts the convertible top frame to the car body.this plate moves around but i can't figure out how to remove it, threads are striped out in this plate .

Can't help on removal, but I had one strip out. I fixed it on/in the car with a heli-coil.

I assume that you are talking about the nut plates shown in my photo. I got a pair from a wrecked mid-year Corvette back in the 1980's. As I remember you can not removed them without breaking the welds of the bracket that holds them in.

One option that i have utilized is to tap the hole out to the next size which if I remember correctly would be a half inch NF
