    New C2 TI Modules

There appears to be two main types of solid state replacement TI modules being sold. One that all the major repro houses sell, and one from K&B Corvette Parts. Both are pictured below.

Anyone have any good, or bad, experience with either?

Thanks for any info you can offer.

I'm using a module purchased from M & H Electric. Was a straight forward swap...plug n play. No issues to date. I don't believe I've ever had an easier starting engine.

        Michael,

I also have an M&H TI board in my 66. Zero issues and I agree, the engine never fired as instantly with the Delco TI board.

I believe the board on the left is the M&H replacement TI board. It uses a different and more modern technology than the original boards used in TI amplifiers. I believe the board on the right is a reproduction of the original board and uses original technology.

IF I were using an original type TI system (I'm not and have no plans to do so, but IF I were), I would use ONLY the M&H updated board. Originality always comes secondary to functionality and reliability. Plus, until judges are found with X-ray vision, no one will ever know the difference.

I have been using the K&B board for about 3 years and have a zero problems. My car has never ran better and the guys at K&b were great to work with.

                All------

I have received information that I was incorrect regarding my belief that the module on the right (K&B) is a reproduction of the original board. It is actually a re-designed and updated replacement board. As such, I would have no qualms whatsoever in using it (IF I were going to use TI) and would consider it about equal to the board pictured on the left. It might even be a bit better since it's a more recent update than the board on the left.

I have 3 m&H replacement boards in place with no issues to date. Oldest one is 6 years old.
