Re: reproductions
The simple answer is yes. It all depends on the quality of the part. As an example, on a 63 the LH vertical ignition shield is a 63 only part. Every reproduction I have seen is awful and easy to spot. There will be a point deduct. The only solution on this part is not to use a reproduction but pay for a good to excellent original part.
Essentially it's a part by part analysis, some will pass easily with no deducts and some will be in the middle and some will get hammered. So do you research, study the part and post pictures and/or take the part you want to replace to a chapter meet and ask for recommendations.

Re: reproductions
Mike,
Try to explain what repro parts you are talking about. If they are parts from trim parts (for example) I would not hesitate to use them. NOS is always best but now a days this stuff is drying up and some of the repro parts are fine IMO.
Look at the early 63 roller gas door, the repro looks fine to me, I restored a original and used a silver backed emblem and I am not sure it's correct for my early car. Would I fix it if there is a white backed emblem available, probably not because the repro gas door looks good and the chrome is better than my gas door.- Top

Re: reproductions
Mike,
It's a good rule to keep all old parts off the car because many tiimes you will refer back and sometimes use some of these parts again, don't throw anything away..- Top
