1965 Power Antenna

I just had a rebuilt original power antenna installed in my '65 Sting Ray. When I got it home, I raised it and was surprised at two things: (1) how high it went (2) how noisy it was during operation.

Until I replaced my antenna, the car had a replacement repro power antenna, installed by a previous owner. It was NTFP, this reproduction, so it was removed after taking flight judging originality deductions. But, the noisy operation of this rebuilt original unit makes me wonder if it will pass the operations test, being this noisy. Can someone who is knowledgeable about the power antennas advise me?

Clark, I doubt the noise would make any difference in Flight Judging operations as long as it operated properly. Possibly it would in a PV but I doubt it would even then. Don H.

Clark, They are long and they are noisy. The judges should know this! If they don't they will after they meet your car for judging! I never extended my antenna to full length cause it looked so out of place.
